Sciatica Treatment with Chiropractic
We've helped a lot of men and women in our Sheboygan office who are suffering from sciatica, and it's an ailment that can result in an extreme amount of distress and difficulties. The good news is that you don't have to suffer, because chiropractic care is a terrific way to get you out of pain.
The sciatic nerve is one of the most massive nerves in your body, and runs from your spine, through your pelvis, and down the back of your leg. Because this important nerve flows through so many compact openings, it's prone to being aggravated or pinched.
Often times sciatic pain starts in the lower back where the nerves leave the spinal column; sometimes the nerve can be irritated as a result of the piriformis muscle in the pelvis.
One of the first things Dr. Amy Endru will do is perform a careful examination that will help point to the actual root cause of your distress. This might not even be specifically where you're feeling discomfort, as the nerve can be compressed much higher up in your body than where you're experiencing the pins and needles or numbness.
Once we've recognized the start of your symptoms, we'll be able to start working repairing the normal function of your spine and sciatic nerve. Removing restrictions or pinching on the nerve will then relieve the symptoms.
